Ways to Participate

There are many ways to share in the life of the parish or call on its services.
If you are able to help in any way with these groups, please contact the Parish Office.

bullet Children's Mass Celebrated at the 9.30am Mass on the 1st Sunday of every month in school term. Children are invited to be readers, musicians, singers and dancers etc.

bullet Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
bullet Flowers A roster exists for those who wish to donate flowers for the church.
bullet Food We maintain a freezer of frozen dinners which can be made available when there is some crisis or other need. If you know of any such need contact the Parish Office. We also will regularly ask for donations of such frozen dinners (we provide the containers) - if you can help, contact the Parish Office.
bullet Healing Mass This Mass is for senior parishioners and those who are unwell is celebrated on the third Wednesday of every month at 9.15am, followed by morning tea. Transport to and from the Mass can be arranged. The Sacrament of the Sick (Anointing of the Sick) is celebrated within this Mass. In December, we have a special pre-Christmas Anointing Mass for senior parishioners followed by a luncheon in the hall. The date of this Mass is advertised in advance in the Parish Bulletin.
bullet Liturgy Meets quarterly to plan and review liturgy within the parish.
bullet Maintenance Group A group of parishioners who have volunteered to be part of regular parish working groups to maintain the grounds surrounding the church by sweeping the courtyard.
School parents run similar working groups to maintain the grounds around the school.
bullet Morning Teas Each week there is a parish morning tea in the courtyard alternately after either the 8am or 9.30am Sunday Mass.
bullet Music Ministry Our Lady of The Rosary Parish has a number of different Music Ministries. Please contact the Parish Office if you would like to be part of Music Ministry.
The Choir sings at the 9.30am Sunday Mass on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. All are welcome. Choir rehearsals are on Monday nights, twice a month.
The Schola sings at the 9.30am Sunday Mass on the 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month. Schola is a group of up to 10 singers and sings unison as well as 4-part harmony. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings and joining is by audition.
The Youth Group sings at 6pm Sunday Masses on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Singers and instrumentalists of highschool age are welcome. Rehearsals are directly before each mass.
The Sunday Night Group sings at 6pm Sudnay Mass on 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th Sundays of the month. Singers and instrumentalists of high school age are welcome. Rehearsals are directly before each mass.
The Childrens' Group sings at the 9.30am Sunday Mass on the 1st Sunday of each month. Singers and instrumentalists of primary school age are welcome.
The Saturday Vigil Music is led by Sue Haertsch on 2nd Saturdays at 6pm. Singers and instrumentalists are welcome. Rehearsals are directly before each mass.
On the 3rd Saturday, Dennis Harris and the Filipino Choir lead the music.
Christina Winslow leads the music on all other Saturdays at 6pm. Christina operates the organ by computer and would dearly love to have some singers to help lead the assembly.
