Parish Neighbourhoods

The Parish Neighbourhoods are 12 geographical areas into which we have divided the parish in order to foster the growth of Christian community within the parish. Each Neighbourhood has a "Neighbourhood Leadership Team", of about 4 people, who facilitate communication within the Neighbourhood and work to help the Neighbourhood be a place of community pastoral care, welcome, and outreach. The Neighbourhood Leadership Team also ensures that new members to the parish are welcomed to the Neighbourhood.

Please become involved in all your Neighbourhood activities - these gatherings help to forge our bonds as a parish community.

We hope the Neighbourhoods are communities within the overall community of the parish aiming to:
  • build and strengthen the bonds of the parish
  • help us to know one another as fellow members of the Catholic Christian community
  • be communities of service
  • be communities of life
  • be communities of prayer
  • be communities of welcome

The parish Neighbourhoods are perhaps the most important dimension of our life as a Christian community. Because it is there that we live. It is there that are (or are not) a community. It is there that we live out the Lord's call to serve and to love one another. Please support your Neighbourhood community with all your heart.

Some neighbourhood activities we hope everyone will participate in:
  • Lenten prayer/discussion groups
  • the home Mass, celebrated once each year
  • the Advent paraliturgy, sometime in December
  • join with other members of your neighbourhood to serve morning tea after Sunday Mass on your neighbourhood's rostered day
